- The Larch -
“I will plant in the wilderness the cedar and the acacia tree, the myrtle and the olive tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the pine, and the box tree together.” Isaiah 41:19
The larch, part of the pine family, is a unique tree that symbolizes resilience, renewal, and adaptability. It is exceptionally hardy and has the ability to grow in harsh, cold climates. The larch exhibits immense changes: soft green needles grow in the spring, dark green needles develop in summer, needles transform to gold in the fall, followed by the shedding of its needles in winter. This scripture represents how trees of different varieties will bloom together in challenging environments, representing God's ability to make the impossible possible.

When people are struggling, facing a challenge, or even a crisis —their own words or language fails them. During these times, an art therapist can help clients express themselves in ways beyond words or language. Art therapists are trained in art and psychological theory and can help clients integrate nonverbal cues and metaphors that are often expressed through the creative process. ~American Art Therapy Association

During this time, we will get to know one another, I will learn about what brought you to therapy, review therapy policies, and discuss the development of your treatment plan. Together, we will decide the appropriate frequency of therapy sessions; whether that be weekly, bi-weekly or once a month. Therapy sessions are typically between 45-60 minutes.

Therapy is a partnership between therapist and client. It is where the real work happens, and healing begins. One or more evidence-based treatment modalities (such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy) will be utilized to address your presenting problems, encourage safe processing, reflection and positive change. Your meaningful work in therapy and between sessions will guide you in reaching your treatment plan goals.
